CommandCTRL 1.5 Release Notes (July 10, 2026)

We’re excited to announce CommandCTRL 1.5, a major release that introduces AI-powered endpoint analysis, browser-based remote control, comprehensive hardware inventory, expanded platform support, Stratusphere history integration, and configurable performance monitoring. This release also delivers significant stability and usability improvements across the platform.

New Features

AI Insights

CommandCTRL 1.5 introduces AI Insights, which enables administrators to quickly interpret endpoint telemetry, trigger violations, and receive actionable diagnostic guidance using AI-powered analysis. AI Insights is available in both Real-Time Dashboard and History Playback (DVR) modes.

  • Multi-Provider AI Support: Connect to ChatGPT (OpenAI), Azure OpenAI, Grok (xAI), or Claude (Anthropic) using your own API credentials. Supported models are automatically discovered and refreshed; the model picker shows models released within the last 365 days.

  • Real-Time Telemetry Analysis: Click AI Insights on any live machine dashboard to analyze the latest 3-second telemetry snapshot. Windows machines can optionally include Hardware Monitor sensor data for enriched analysis.

  • History Playback (DVR) Analysis: Pause the history timeline at any point and invoke AI Insights to analyze a 10-second sample together with any trigger rule violations active during that window.

  • Interactive Chat Console: Open the AI Insights Chat Console to ask follow-up questions, request data summaries, generate custom reports, and maintain context across multiple questions in a single session.

  • Data Privacy Protection: CommandCTRL automatically tokenizes sensitive information including usernames, hostnames, IP addresses, domain names, network SSIDs, and file paths before sending data to any AI provider.

Browser-Based Remote Control

A new browser-based remote control session type allows technicians to connect directly to an endpoint’s desktop without installing additional software, adding full cross-platform support.

  • In-Browser Sessions: The remote desktop streams directly into the technician’s browser window in a dedicated tab. No plug-in or client download is required on the admin side.

  • End-User Approval Workflow: When enabled, the end user receives an on-screen prompt and must accept before the session begins, ensuring consent and compliance.

  • Cross-Platform Support: Browser-based remote control supports Windows, macOS, Linux (Ubuntu, Red Hat, Fedora, Debian), IGEL, and eLux endpoints running the CommandCTRL 1.5 agent.

Expanded Shell Access

Shell access is now available across all supported platforms. In addition to the existing Windows PowerShell integration, CommandCTRL 1.5 adds native terminal access for macOS and Linux. Shell sessions open in a dedicated browser tab for a focused workflow.

  • Privilege Level Selection: When opening a shell session, administrators select the execution context: User (Inherited Rights) runs commands with the privileges of the currently logged-in user, while System (Elevated Rights) runs commands with full administrator privileges. The prompt also displays how many active user sessions are on the target machine at the time of connection.

  • Mac Terminal: Administrators can open an interactive Mac terminal session directly from the machine dashboard using the Shell toolbar button.

  • Linux Shell: Linux endpoints (Ubuntu, Red Hat, Fedora, Debian, IGEL, eLux) now support shell access with selectable shell type (bash, sh, etc.).

Script Execution Context

Scripts can now be run with a selectable privilege level, matching the execution context options available in Shell. When running a script, administrators choose between User (Inherited Rights) to run with the logged-in user’s privileges and context, or System (Elevated Rights) to run with full administrator privileges. This gives help desk technicians precise control over the security context of automated remediation tasks.

Hardware Inventory

CommandCTRL 1.5 introduces a comprehensive on-demand hardware inventory for Windows devices. The Hardware Information panel presents a full component tree covering the system, processor, motherboard, memory, video adapter, monitors, network adapters, ports, and battery.

  • On-Demand Scan: Trigger a hardware scan from the System Properties widget on the machine dashboard. Results are displayed immediately in the Hardware Information panel with a searchable, expandable component tree.

  • System Overview: The top level of the inventory shows Computer Name, Operating System, UEFI Boot status, Secure Boot status, and Hypervisor-Protected Code Integrity (HVCI) status critical security posture indicators for modern Windows endpoints.

  • Central Processor: View processor name and model, architecture (including Intel Core Ultra, AMD Ryzen, and ARM64 / Snapdragon X Elite), core and thread count, base and boost clock speeds, cache hierarchy (L1/L2/L3), TDP, supported instruction sets, and virtualization capability.

  • Motherboard: View mainboard manufacturer, model, chipset, BIOS version and release date, expansion slot configuration, and firmware features.

  • Memory: View total installed RAM, per-DIMM slot details including size, type (DDR4, DDR5, LPDDR5), manufacturer, speed ratings, and XMP/SPD timing profiles.

  • Video Adapter: View GPU model, VRAM size and type, memory bus width, driver version, and GPU clock speeds. Integrated and discrete GPUs are both enumerated.

  • Monitor: View connected display model, native resolution, and physical connection type.

  • Network Adapters: View all installed network adapters including manufacturer, model, MAC address, and connection type.

  • Ports: View the full set of physical and logical ports present on the device, including USB, Thunderbolt, and other connectivity.

  • Smart Battery: View battery manufacturer, design capacity, current capacity, wear level, charge cycle count, current voltage and charge rate, and estimated remaining lifespan. Useful for proactive laptop fleet lifecycle management.

Stratusphere History Integration

CommandCTRL 1.5 introduces direct integration with Stratusphere UX for organizations running both products. When Stratusphere is configured in the environment, a Stratusphere History button appears in the machine toolbar alongside View History, giving technicians one-click access to the full Stratusphere historical dataset for the selected machine without leaving CommandCTRL.

  • Stratusphere History Button: Access Stratusphere’s historical performance data directly from the CommandCTRL machine dashboard toolbar. This is particularly useful in conjunction with the new option to disable CommandCTRL’s own history collection, ensuring no duplicate data is gathered while still providing seamless access to historical telemetry.

Performance Monitoring Configuration

Administrators can now tune how CommandCTRL collects historical performance data, reducing agent overhead on resource-constrained devices and avoiding duplicate data collection for organizations already using Stratusphere.

  • Configurable Sampling Rate: The history sampling interval can be set to 10 (default), 20, 30, or 60 seconds. Higher intervals reduce agent resources and network usage on thin clients and low-spec devices.

  • Disable History Collection: Organizations using Stratusphere for on-premises history collection can disable CommandCTRL’s history collection entirely to eliminate duplicate WAN traffic. Real-time monitoring continues to function normally. Configure under Settings > Site > Enable/Disable History Collection On Agents.

Expanded Platform Support

CommandCTRL 1.5 significantly expands the range of supported platforms and architectures.

  • Linux Agent: Full agent support for Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise Linux / Fedora, and Debian on x86 and ARM64 architectures. Includes history collection, diagnostics, shell access, and remote control.

  • IGEL OS and eLux: Native CommandCTRL agent packages for IGEL OS 12 and eLux thin client endpoints, including dashboard monitoring and diagnostics.

  • Windows ARM: The Windows agent now runs natively on ARM64 hardware, including Snapdragon X Elite devices, supporting all existing Windows agent features.

  • macOS Enhancements: The macOS agent installer now supports a broader range of macOS versions. Network widgets and Wi-Fi statistics are now collected and displayed for Mac endpoints.

Liquidware Product Diagnostics

When a Liquidware agent is installed on an endpoint, CommandCTRL now surfaces product-specific diagnostic tools directly within the Diagnostics panel, allowing administrators to collect and download diagnostic data without touching the endpoint directly.

  • ProfileUnity Diagnostics: When the ProfileUnity client is installed on a machine, a ProfileUnity Diagnostics tool appears in the Diagnostics panel. Running this tool collects the ProfileUnity client diagnostic ZIP file, which can then be downloaded directly from the CommandCTRL interface for offline review or submission to Liquidware support.

  • Stratusphere UX Logging: When the Stratusphere UX agent is installed on a machine, a Strat UX Logging widget appears in the Diagnostics panel. Administrators can archive the Stratusphere UX diagnostic logs and download them directly from the CommandCTRL interface.

Universal File Collection

CommandCTRL 1.5 extends diagnostic collection beyond Liquidware products with Universal File Collection, allowing administrators to gather log files and other data from any software on an endpoint and download them directly through CommandCTRL. No remote-control session is required, and the end user does not need to be involved. As long as the endpoint is reachable by CommandCTRL, files can be collected regardless of whether the device is on the corporate network, a remote office, or a home or public network.

  • Collect from Any Application: Point Universal File Collection at a folder or specific files belonging to any vendor software, such as Citrix or Microsoft, and select Collect. The files are packaged and made available for download directly from the CommandCTRL interface, with no remote session required.

  • Location Independent: Files can be collected from any reachable endpoint regardless of network location, eliminating the need to schedule a remote session or guide an end user through locating and packaging files manually.

Issues Resolved

  • Fixed an issue where a user invitation email was sent successfully, but the sign-up process silently failed, preventing the new user from completing registration.

  • Fixed an issue where re-registering an existing email address that had no associated tenant or authentication account appeared to send a confirmation email when in fact no email was sent, and an error had occurred.

  • Fixed a memory leak on the dashboard that caused browser memory usage to grow over extended sessions.

  • Fixed an issue in dark mode where clicking certain input fields made the text virtually invisible.

  • Fixed an issue in dark mode where hovering over the Task Manager Performance tab did not display the data correctly.

  • Fixed an issue where resuming history playback after pausing always restarted from the beginning of the recording instead of the paused position.

  • Fixed an issue where selecting a specific point in time on the history timeline still played back from the beginning of the recording.

  • Fixed an issue where, if the “Go to Dashboard” option was enabled, opening a shell would navigate to the dashboard view instead of the shell view.

  • Fixed errors that occurred when running Event Logs from the Diagnostics section.

  • Fixed an issue where a Mac machine appeared under three different names in the CommandCTRL console.

  • Fixed an issue where the Windows agent collected and sent history data while the user session was locked.

  • Fixed an issue where the Mac agent collected and sent history data when the user was logged out, or the session was locked.

  • Fixed an issue where the Mac agent consumed very high CPU and memory resources.
