Installing the ProfileUnity Client into Amazon AppStream

Start the image builder instance with the most current image and AppStream agent to be used with ProfileUnity FlexApp. Connect as an Administrator.

  1. Log in to your ProfileUnity Management Console from your image builder instance:
    https://your-server:8000
  2. Hover over your username in the top right corner of the screen.
  3. In the drop-down menu that appears, click the Administration option.
  4. The Administration screen opens with the Settings tab displayed.
  5. Scroll down to the ProfileUnity Tools section.
  6. Click the Download or Deploy Client Tools button.
  7. On the popup screen that appears, select Download in the Platform field, then click the Deploy button. This will download the Zip file through your browser.
  8. Extract client-tools.zip to the client-tools directory.
  9. In the Client Settings section of the Administration screen, click the Download or Deploy Client Settings button.
  10. On the popup screen that appears, select Download in the Platform field, then click the Deploy button. This will download a clientsettings.xml file through your browser.
  11. Place the clientsettings.xml file in the same client-tools directory with the client-tools.zip file contents.
  12. Install the ProfileUnity Client agent software on your AppStream Image by right-clicking client-tools\LwL.ProfileUnity.Client.Startup.exe and selecting “Run as administrator.”
  13. Press any key to continue.
  14. Install all runtimes to the image using Liquidware’s bundled Runtime installer. This provides a common set of libraries for FlexApp operations. Refer to the knowledge base article entitled Runtime Installer Package for a link to the latest version of the installer.
