Note: If there are currently FlexApp One packages in the environment that are Engine version 6.8.6 R1 or earlier, and managed by ProfileUnity, an in-place upgrade of the client tools must be performed to ensure continued functionality. Uninstalling the old client tools rather than upgrading them will result in the same problem. If a direct upgrade is not possible, the FlexApp One applications must be re-bundled or migrated to Engine version 6.8.7 prior to installing the 6.8.7 version of client tools. This can be done within the 6.8.7 version of the FlexApp Packaging Console by creating new FlexApp One application packages.
ProfileUnity with FlexApp is enabled by the administrator for select users or groups within the ProfileUnity Management Console from a list of application packages. Admins package these applications using the FlexApp Packaging Console.
If updates have been made to the FlexApp Packaging Console since you last installed it, you must update it from the ProfileUnity Management Console. To find information on FlexApp Packaging Console updates, refer to the ProfileUnity Release Notes. To install updates, complete the following steps:
- Login to the ProfileUnity Management Console.
- Hover over your username in the top right corner of the screen.
- In the drop-down menu that appears, click the Administration option.
- On the Settings page, scroll down to the ProfileUnity Tools section.
- Click the Download FlexApp Packaging Console link.
- After reverting your FlexApp Package Console virtual machine to a clean state, uninstall the current version of FlexApp Packaging Console from Apps and features if you do not have a pre-installation snapshot to revert to. Copy the downloaded installer to the machine and run it to install the new version.
- After the installation is complete, launch the FlexApp Packaging Console and allow optimizations to complete, then reboot.
- Shut down the machine and take a new snapshot so you have a clean state to go back to after future packaging operations. If you cannot use snapshot technology, make sure to enable the Rollback feature within the FlexApp Packaging Console.

Important: The FlexApp Packaging Console cannot be installed on the same machine as the ProfileUnity Management Console.
