In some cases, independent FlexApp packages relate to one another. Setting FlexApp package dependencies helps to control how FlexApp packages are layered into the user environment at login. For example, Microsoft Outlook uses Microsoft Word to create and edit emails, so Microsoft Word should logically be in place before using Microsoft Outlook. A package is not made available for use until its dependencies are first layered in and made active.
Note: In order to configure dependencies for a package, the application package must first be activated. Refer to the topic Activating or Deactivating a Package for instructions on how to do this.
To configure package dependencies, complete the following steps:
- From the FlexApp Packaging Console, click the down arrow beside the
(Edit the package) button. - In the drop-down list that appears, click the
(Edit dependencies of the package) button. - The Edit a Package's Dependencies screen opens
- The Package Dependencies field lists all of the FlexApp packages that the named FlexApp package is currently dependent on.
- To add packages to this list, click a name in the list on the right, then click the
(Add) button. - To remove packages from this list (and thus remove the package dependency), click the
(Remove) button.
