Configure Application Settings for Users

Administrators can change and configure default application settings on FlexApp packages for users by clicking Configure the Package.

Note: In order to configure a package, the application package must first be activated. Refer to the topic Activating or Deactivating a Package for instructions on how to do this.

To configure application settings for users, complete the following steps:

  1. In the FlexApp Packaging Console, locate and Activate the package you want to configure.
  2. Click the Edit the package button on the right side of the package row.
  3. In the drop-down list that appears, click the Configure the package button.
  4. The Configure a Package screen opens.
  5. (Optional) In the Package Name field, rename the package with a more descriptive name relating to any special configuration settings.
  6. (Optional) In the Package Version field, enter the version number for the package you are configuring.
  7. (Optional) In the Application Location field, enter the full path or browse to the executable location.
  8. (Optional) In the text-entry field under the Application Location field, add any additional parameters for the application.
  9. (Optional) Select the Create FlexApp One checkbox if you want to create a FlexApp One application for the FlexApp package you are configuring.
  10. Choose the Capture Mode to use when capturing system changes. Options are Normal (Legacy) or High Compatibility (default).
  11. Click the Configure button to launch the application’s executable. The FlexApp Packaging Console will then record the configuration changes you made to the application.
  12. When you are finished making changes, click Save to accept the application changes to the package or Discard to cancel out the setting changes.
  13. Click OK to finalize the process.
