Merge a Package with Another Package

To merge two existing packages and create a new package that contains the contents of both, complete the following steps:

  1. In the FlexApp Packaging Console, locate the package you want to merge with another.
  2. Click the Edit the package button on the right side of the package row.
  3. In the drop-down list that appears, click the Merge the package with another button.
  4. The Merge a Package screen opens.
  5. In the Package To Merge In field, select the package you want to merge with the one you are currently working on.
  6. Enter a New Package Name for the merged package.
  7. (Optional) In the Package Version field, enter the version number for the package you are creating.
  8. (Optional) Enter a Package Description for the new package.
  9. In the Package Type field, select the type of disk on which the package will be created: FlexDisk, Cloud, or VHDX.
  10. The fields that appear below the Package Type field change depending on which package type you selected:
    • If you chose FlexDisk, then choose the datastore to hold the FlexApp package from the FlexDisk Datastore field.
    • If you chose Cloud, then do the following:
      1. Select the proper Cloud Credentials which are configured in the ProfileUnity Management Console Administration > Cloud Storage section.
      2. Select the Cloud Storage Location that pairs with your selected Cloud Credentials. Valid cloud storage path prefixes are as follows:
        • S3:// for Amazon S3
        • AZ:// for Azure Blob
        • GS:// for Google Cloud Storage
      3. (Optional) Select the Create FlexApp One checkbox if you want to create a FlexApp One application for the FlexApp package you are creating.
      4. (Optional) Select the Optimize New Package checkbox if you want to automatically remove unnecessary filesystem and registry entries from the newly-created package.
    • If you chose VHDX, then do the following:
      1. Enter the path in the VHDX Location field that appears.
      2. (Optional) Select the Create FlexApp One checkbox if you want to create a FlexApp One package for the FlexApp package you are creating.
      3. (Optional) Select the Optimize New Package checkbox if you want to automatically remove unnecessary filesystem and registry entries from the newly-created package.
  11. Click Merge to create the new package.
